The first step is to find out what you are good at and what you are lacking.
The easiest way -
Download the latest copy of GMAT Prep and try to do the diagnostic for each section - Quant and Verbal. The software is free to download. All you need to do is to register on the website. You do not need to register for the exam.
Each Diagnostic section has 15 questions. Time each section.
You should give 2 min per question for Quant and 1.75 min per question for Verbal. This would give you a fair idea about your weaknesses and strengths.
The best option would be to give one of the exams too, but this is not required. Because in some cases it might reduce the person's confidence.
